One Mom On A Mission, Inc. - Thank you for making our non-profit the best!
One Mom on a Mission, Inc. is a nonprofit organization committed to raising money and awareness for persons with special needs. We are a group of people committed to promoting full inclusion of all persons in our community. We have received our 501(c)3 tax exemption status from the IRS. All net profits from the sales of the cookies, bracelets, and t-shirts will be donated to special needs programs in Boulder and Broomfield Counties here in Colorado. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation on our website or mail to our address. Please make checks payable to One Mom on a Mission.
Respite Care - Cheryl A. Riddell Memorial Fund
We are collecting donations for our respite fund. Several times during the year we will donate the money to a local community service board (e.g., Imagine! of Colorado). We will ask Imagine! to give the monies families in need of respite. We will make sure Spanish speaking families benefit from these funds as well.
Grants for Specialized Therapy - William and Shirley Maher Memorial Fund
We will have tuition funds available to families who have children with special needs who require special classes that promote full inclusion, speech and language, friendship development, music therapy, hippotherapy, etc. Most of these types of therapies are not covered by traditional insurance plans but are crucial to children with special needs. Several times during the year we will give the monies to a local community service board and ask them to allocate the funds to families with children who are in need of extra therapies or special classes that promote full inclusion.
Diversity Puppet Shows - The Kids on the Block
Once a month, One Mom on a Mission organizes and puts on puppet shows using The Kids on the Block puppets and educational scripts ( www.kotb.com ). These shows aim to teach audiences about diversity in individuals and to enhance awareness, sensitivity and acceptance of children with developmental and learning disabilities, including autism and ADHD, physical disabilities such as spina bifida and cerebral palsy, and illnesses such as AIDS and leukemia.
